My name is Filip, 33 year old lad, nice to meet you!
I'm the developer of Ruza under the pseudonym: Stroj. Since we're on the
world wide web, it is customary to use a made up name.
Who is Stroj, what was the inspiration behind Ruza and what does it all
mean? The answer is very simple. My life (thus far). If a picture says a
thousand words, a video says it all:
While I was gestating in my mother's womb, listening to the relaxing
sounds of mortar shells, something was brewing inside my mind. After I
took a one way bus ticket, I entered a nation that was having explosive
diarrhea.
As a child I was told: "This revolution will bring better times!".
"Wonderful!", I said to myself. "Surely nothing could go wrong, right?"
In my native village, I was constructed by a Bosnian bekrija and an
Croatian battleaxe.
I love them dearly.
While my family was squabbling over my future, my two grandfathers (may
God bless them). One taught me about strength, the other knowledge. Both
gave me a bottle of rakija.
Even though I liked to study more than work at the field, I had to do my
part in the farm work like all the other kids as well.
Ah, yes. My first Svinjokolja. A pig being slaughtered the old fashioned
way. At least I knew what went into my sausages.
It was an experience, let me tell you what. I studied all the organs,
flesh and bone in awe!
After farm work was done, I hade some free time which I spent reading
all the books my grandfather gave me.
One day my father took me to the market. He has bought me three machines
that changed my life forever: NES, SNES and a i386 PC.
Not only did it ignite my interest in video games, but electronics as
well. I was interested how the devices worked. What was going on in
those plastic and metal shells.
I have finished a technical school in electrical engineering, then after
that I went to a university for all kinds of engineering degrees.
However, I knew exactly what I wanted to study!
During this time I started getting all sorts of ideas and themes that
appeared in Ruza and will appear in future games!
To this day, it is an absolute joy to make software and games for the
future of the internet!
